Splash Art Nottingham Studio

Our studio is at 59 Mansfield Road, Nottingham, NG1 3FH. We are opposite the Victoria Bus station.

We advise checking opening times and prices of these carparks before attending.

We are currently not accessible for wheelchairs. We are looking into options for improving our accessibility.

It is our recommendation that you wear clothing that you don’t mind getting messy. Whilst we provide protective equipment as part of your session, the activities can get messy and paint can find it’s way onto clothing.

Whilst our paint is water based acrylic, it can stain clothing. We do provide protective ponchos and shoe covers but recommend wearing old clothing you don’t mind getting a bit messy.

Please come prepared, dressed in the clothes you intend to wear for painting. We only have one small toilet in the venue with no changing facilities, so it’s not suitable to get changed on arrival.

Yes, we do have small lockers available for you to store valuables in. These are used at your own risk. We do not charge for use of lockers.
Lockers are not big enough to store large bags.

We currently have one customer toilet in the venue and will be adding a second soon.

We will of course clean all your paint stations and equipment for you. You are welcome to use our clean-up area with large sinks and we provide plenty of soap, water and towels.

Splash Art Sessions

Enjoy your own company? One person is the minimum booking requirement for a standard Artist session.

We are afraid not. All our Standard Splash Art Sessions are 60 minutes long and cannot be extended due to our timetable of scheduled events and cleanup times.

Our Splash Art Studio is an open plan studio in a shared space.
You will have your own dedicated station and a selection of equipment for personal use.

When you book a standard Artist session you will receive a 16 x 20 Inch Canvas.
You will at checkout also have the option to upgrade to a larger 20 x 30 inch Canvas.
If you change your mind on the day and wish to upgrade on arrival we can arrange that for you (stock dependant).

Of course! We actively encourage you to take photos and show all of your friends what a great time they missed out on.
Be sure to tag @Splash Art Republic on all of your socials. We love to see all your artworks! We may even reshare your post!
By entering the studio you acknowledge that you may have your picture taken and it may be posted online.

We do not currently offer any kind of a postage service for canvases.

Please do not bring your own supplies. We use specific paint and our canvases have special take home boxes made to allow you to transport your wet artwork.
If you have a specific requirement or request please get in touch with us and we will do what we can to accommodate you.

We are registered with the BLUE LIGHT card scheme and offer a 10% discount to those that hold one. Other than this we may occasionally offer seasonal or one-off discounts but we do not offer any discounts as strandard.

If cancellations are more than 48 hours in advance of your booking we will reschedule your session free of charge.
If cancellations are made less than 48 hours in advance of your booking you will not receive a refund. All bookings are final.
If you are rescheduling less than 48 in advance you will incur a £15 Rescheduling Fee per Station.
If your whole party or an individual guest in a party does not show up to their booking, they will not receive a refund and do not have the option to reschedule.
If Splash Art Republic should have to cancel or reschedule your booking for any reason we will offer a 100% refund or offer an alternative date for your booking.

As part of your booking we provide you with a take home box to allow you to take your canvas home.
We currently have boxes for the 16 x 20 inch canvases only.
20 x 30 inch canvases will need to stay with us for 24-48hrs to dry and then can be collected in a large carrier bag we provide.
Please note: We do not have sufficient storage space to keep your canvas in our studio. All 16 x 20 inch paintings must be taken away at the end of each session.
We are working to provide 20 × 30 inch boxes as soon as possible so that you can take larger canvases home on the day also.

The Studio doors open 10 minutes before any session start time. We are unable to open before this as we clean the venue between sessions.
There are a variety of amenities in the local vicinity so if you arrive very early we recommend visiting one of them.

We do not have space to store canvases.
We provide take home boxes for standard canvases to ensure you can take your painting home after your session.
Larger canvases can be stored for a short period.

Due to space restrictions in the splash studio the maximum number of people that can share any splash station is two.

Yes, absolutely.
We are always BYOB for our ADULTS ONLY sessions. We do not charge any corkage fees.
If you are privately hiring the venue you can provide drinks before hand and we will set up a bar for you.

Due to the nature of the activity it is not appropriate to bring food for consumption on the premises during splash sessions.
We are only able to allow food for private bookings.
Children in Splash Art Sessions

All children aged 4-7 years old (Apprentice) must be accompanied by an adult on an Artist & Apprentice booking. Adults are not able to supervise more than one Apprentice.
All children aged 8-11 years old (Junior Artists) must have a responsible adult in the studio to supervise them. Adults must pay for their own station. We are unable to accommodate more than 8 children to 1 Adult due to health and Safety restrictions.
All children aged 12-15 years old (Teen Artist) must have a responsible Adult on the premises but are not required to be in the studio with them.

Unfortunately due to the nature of our venue and limited space in our splash studio we cannot allow parents to just spectate.
Please follow the guideline on children’s ages and required supervision levels.

Whilst we do not currently provide family packages, it is something that we are looking into as a standalone package.
We do have specific options for younger children (aged 4 to 7 years).
For children aged 4 to 7 years, we encourage people to purchase the Artist & Apprentice Shared Station.
Children aged 8-11 years old (Junior Artists) must have a responsible adult in the studio to supervise them. Adults must pay for their own station.
Children aged 12-15 years old (Teen Artist) must have a responsible Adult on the premises but are not required to be in the studio with them.

Of course. It’s absolutely no problem to be beside your child to help them. If you have booked correctly you will be on a shared station with children aged 4-7 years.
If your child is aged 8-11 years you will have booked an adult space also and you will always be placed next to your child except in exceptional circumstances.
If your child is aged 12 + and you are not participating in the activity you can remain in our reception area while your child paints upstairs in our studio. No children under the age of 16 can be left on site without a responsible adult.

We will always group bookings together unless in extreme circumstances. We will always group children and adults in the same areas to ensure that families can enjoy their activity together.

Unfortunately we do not permit children to share stations.
You are welcome to purchase one Adult & Apprentice Station and one Junior Artist Station, and have only one adult supervise both children at the same time. We would always locate the stations together to ensure that they had a shared experience.
Pour Art Nottingham Studio

We use a specially formulated acrylic paint mixed with fluid medium. Just give your bottle a shake and you are ready to pour.

Whilst Pour Art is our cleaner activity we do recommend that you wear some old clothing that you don’t mind if paint gets on them. Aprons and gloves are supplied as part of your session but paint can find it’s way onto clothing.

Yes our Pour Art sessions are BYOB. We ask you to please respect that there may be children in your session too.

Our maximum occupancy is 12 people.

Whilst the session is up to 60 minutes long, unless you are doing a larger or additional bears you will unlikely need the full 60 minutes to complete your bear so don’t be alarmed if you feel you have finished quickly.

Our sessions start at £35 per person with upgrades available.

Our standard sessions include a 23cm bear, three bottles of our 60ml fluid pour paint, all tools and equipment as well as a studio guide to assist you.

Our bears come in the following sizes:

All bear availability is dependent on current stock levels.

We usually have around 25-30 colours to choose from depending on our current stock levels.

You can swap your standard 23cm bear for one of our larger bears for £14.50 and also receive 2 two additional bottles of paint.
Other size bears may be available, please check website for availaibilty.

You can purchase additional bottles of paint for £3 per bottle.
Pour Art Sessions

These sessions are not suitable for children under 8 years old. If we feel your child is too young to participate we will not allow them to enter the studio.

Children aged 12 years and under need to be accompanied by an adult so you will need to book two tickets. This is a seated class and we simply don’t have available seats for those who are just waiting.

Our Pour Art Studio is an open plan studio in a shared space.

When you book a standard Pour Art session you will receive a 23cm bear model.
You will at checkout also have the option to upgrade to a larger 33cm bear or larger (stock dependant).
If you change your mind on the day and wish to upgrade on arrival we can arrange that for you when you arrive.

We currently do not offer a postage servicer as standard, however in exceptional circumstances we may be able to provide you with a shipping option for an additional cost.

This is not possible. Each standard participant receives a 23cm Bear and 3 x 60ml paints as part of their session.
We do not have a provision for shared models.

All bears must remain in the studio after the session for the recommended drying time.

Models need to stay in the studio to dry for approximately 3-4 days. You then have an additional two weeks to pick up your model.
We will not store models for longer than two weeks due to space limitations.

It will either be repurposed or sold for charity.
